I live in Tokyo, and I’ve been in Japan since 2019. I’m originally from Dailekh, a district in mid-western Nepal.

I started out doing short-term jobs at a few AI startups around Japan while I was at university. After I graduated in 2024, I spent two years at TIER IV, working on computer vision and perception for self-driving cars.

Now I’m at Amphico, a startup headquartered in the UK, as a machine learning engineer. I also write a lot of the software around the models. Most of my day goes into predicting what a fabric will look like before it’s made.

At work it’s data, software and AI. My hobby is reading and learning about anything to do with science: animal behaviour, microbiology, evolution, complexity and chaos, statistical inference, causality. There’s no neat reason for that list. I like things that look like noise until you find the right way to look at them.

I’m also into mixed martial arts, running, motorbikes and spirituality. My interests run wide, and I’m not looking to narrow them.
